Glazing in Watercolor
Ages: 12+
Add interest and luster to your watercolors using the simple yet effective technique of glazing. You’ll create a palette of colors that can’t be found in a tube of paint. Learn basic techniques of glazing in watercolor. We will create invaluable color charts that assist in color choices when executing a painting. Create your own palette of unique colors.

Registration Deadline: January 20 - Su
Dates: February 20 – W; 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Instructor: Sondra Holtzman
Fee: $45 ID $50 OD
Location: Sisters Art Works - Upstairs Studio, 204 W Adams St, Sisters. At the corner of Ash and Adams, where art works in Sisters
Minimum: 5 Maximum: 12

Curiosity, enthusiasm and a healthy sense of humor required. Wear Casual clothes.
Conditional Supply Fee: There is a $25 supply rental fee, paid directly to the instructor at the beginning of the workshop, for anyone who would like to have the following supplies provided by the instructor. The instructors do not accept credit cards, so be sure to bring cash or a check with you. No supply fee for those who bring their own supplies. Please indicate your preference when registering for this workshop.
Required Supplies:
Several sheets of watercolor paper
Small set of watercolors
#8 or #10 watercolor brush
Piece of terry cloth towel
Watercolor container
Scissors
Glue stick

Please note: There are a few stairs to climb to get to the studio at Sisters Art Works.

Dynamic Florals in Watercolor
Ages: 12+
A Make Every Day a Painting workshop with Cindy Briggs. Open your eyes to a new way of observing flowers, get advice on lighting, composition, drawing, and learn how to enhance your light and shadow colors to create your own dynamic sunlit floral in watercolor. Learn about observation, lighting, composition, organic shapes, drawing, and enhanced color and create your own dynamic sunlit floral in watercolor. For the Experienced Beginner to Intermediate student.

Dates: February 28 – Th; 9:30am – 4:00pm

Watercolor Palette with suggested colors or your own selection: Cerulean Blue, Cobalt Blue, Sap Green, New Gamboge, Transparent Yellow, Permanent Rose, Cad Red Light, Winsor Blue Green Shade, Burn Sienna, Raw Sienna, French Ultra Marine Blue, Cobalt Teal Blue. (Suggested watercolor palette with paint for 1st time buyers… Charles Reid Pan Watercolor Palette)
Water Bucket
1 to 2 sheets of 140lb Arches cold press watercolor paper size 14 x 10 to 15 x 22
Gator board or foam core cut to about paper size
clamps or white artists tape
small block or brick to vary angle of painting
paper towels
pencil
kneaded eraser
Photo provided or bring your own.
